A Second Chance
At Watts Chapel Baptist Church, we believe that true healing comes through Jesus Christ. Though it is still "To Be Determined," we are working to offer Celebrate Recovery, a Christ-centered recovery program that helps individuals find freedom from life's hurts, habits, and hang-ups.
Whether you're struggling with addiction, past trauma, relational issues, or emotional wounds, Celebrate Recovery is a safe place where you can experience restoration and begin the journey toward healing.
What is Celebrate Recovery?
Celebrate Recovery is a Biblically-based 12-step program designed to help people overcome a variety of life struggles, from addiction to anger, from past abuse to unhealthy patterns of behavior. Rooted in the teachings of Jesus, it brings healing and strength through His Word, fostering a Christ-centered approach to recovery. The program is not just about stopping bad habits; it’s about transforming your life through the power of God's love and grace.
Celebrate Recovery is more than just a weekly meeting. It’s a community of people who understand your struggles and offer support, encouragement, and accountability. It’s a place where you can share openly without fear of judgment and find comfort in knowing you're not alone.
Who is Celebrate Recovery For?
Celebrate Recovery is open to everyone in our community who needs healing. It’s for those struggling with:
Addiction: Whether it's alcohol, drugs, gambling, or any other form of addiction, Celebrate Recovery offers a Christ-centered approach to breaking free.
Anger and Bitterness: Many of us carry deep-seated anger or resentment. Celebrate Recovery helps individuals address these issues and find emotional healing.
Past Trauma: Whether it’s emotional, physical, or sexual trauma, Celebrate Recovery offers a safe space to find healing and peace.
Codependency and Unhealthy Relationships: If you're struggling with unhealthy patterns in relationships, Celebrate Recovery provides the tools and support to find freedom.
Eating Disorders and Other Hurts: Celebrate Recovery addresses a range of issues that impact mental and emotional health, helping individuals break free from destructive behaviors.
The Celebrate Recovery Process
Weekly Meetings: Every week, participants gather for a time of worship, testimony, and teaching. These meetings are an opportunity for people to hear God's Word and how it applies to their recovery journey.
Small Groups: After the main meeting, we break into smaller groups for open sharing. These groups provide a safe environment for individuals to discuss their struggles and receive encouragement and support from others who are walking the same path.
Step Studies: In addition to the weekly meetings, participants can engage in a 12-step study that dives deeper into the recovery process, focusing on overcoming personal challenges through faith in Christ.
A Christ-Centered Approach
The foundation of Celebrate Recovery is built on the teachings of Jesus Christ. We emphasize that true healing comes not from human effort alone but from a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Through His grace, we can find freedom from our struggles, peace in our hearts, and a renewed sense of purpose.
